“Thanks to the generous support of participants, Jakes Ride has provided funding to train the next generation of movement disorder specialists at Massachusetts General Hospital. After completing neurology residencies, fellows have spent an additional two years getting specific training in dystonia, Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders that are found in both children and adults. The fellows are also given financial support to develop research hypotheses and generate data that will allow them to apply for funding from the NIH and other agencies. To date, Jake’s Ride has supported the development and establishment of 6 academic careers in dystonia-related research and clinical care.”
